The Neurological Surgery Unit of UBTH has commenced a one-month master class training in Neurological Surgery for Nurses.
The convener and Coordinator of the training programme, Prof. D. O. Udoh appreciated the CMD and the Management team for their support in the upscaling of neurological surgery practice in the hospital.
He added that the training of nurses in this specialisation became necessary with new developments in neurological care and skills proficiency.
He further assured that this training will bring the nurses up to speed with best practices in the specialty.
The CMD Prof. Darlington Obaseki urged the nurses to be professional, dedicated, and passionate in their quest for knowledge. He thereafter officially declared the training open.
There were goodwill messages from Prof. S.U. Okugbo (CMAC), Mrs Bertha Ujiagbedion (Head, Nursing Services) represented by DDNS. G. Arheghan, Dr. Eseiwe, R. HOD, Nursing UNIBEN, the pioneer Ward Manager, Neurosurgery Ward, Rev. Mrs Priscilla Uabor.
Dr. Fidelis Eki-udoko (DCMAC Training and Monitoring), Dr. Mrs Esohe Ogboghodo ( DCMAC Research and Ethics), Ag. Head Emergency Medicine Department Dr. Steven Igetei among other dignitaries were also in attendance.
