In a bid to help curtail community spread of the dreaded Coronavirus virus disease in Etsako West Local Government and Edo State in general, a social-political group under the aegis, Youths Coalition for Good Governance on Thursday donated facemasks to Etsako West Local Council.
Presenting the facemasks, President of the group and representative of Ward III in Etsako West Local Government, Comrade Anegbe Ozobole Alasan lauded the Council Chairman, Hon. Imonofi Inusa for his developmental strides. He explained that the gesture is to complement the effort of Obaseki-led State Government in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic and to reaffirm support for his government.
“We are here today to donate these nosemasks to Etsako West Local Government as a support to the Edo State Government in the fight against Coronavirus and to reaffirm our unfailing and unflinching support for this administration and the administration of Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
“Going forward, we want to say a big thank you to the Executive Chairman, Etsako West Local Government, Hon. Imonofi Inusa for his numerous financial contribution towards the successful second term bid of this administration and ultimate delivery of his electoral Unit in the last gubernatorial election. We also want to show appreciation to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu for the role he played for the success of this administration second term bid. We pray that God will crown him wisdom to manage the affairs of Edo North.”
Receiving the facemasks, the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Imonofi Inusa thanked the group for the donation.
The Chairman noted: “To be candid, I am highly elated to have you people around me, contributing your own quota in respect to the health of our people. What you have done today will benefit a lot of people including the Civil servants.”
According to him, Coronavirus pandemic is still very much around and that is the reason Edo State Government is emphasizing the use of facemask. The governor doesn’t want a total lockdown of economic activities.
While thanking the group for the donation, the Council boss promised to convey their message to the State Government.
