On daily basis, the presidential candidate of the main opposition New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is consolidating his hold on voters in the Northern part of Nigeria.
This is coming just as reports have it that the wind of change, which the NNPP is bringing to the country is fast resonating with voters in the South South region of the country.
The Kwankwassiya momentum was initially limited to Kano State, is fast spreading to other states of the North.
This is because most political gladiators in the North are fast aligning with the desire of masses in the region who have since found a saviour in the former minister of Defence.
It is no longer news that serving and former political office holders have found his Abuja and Kano abode a Mecca of sorts as they daily consult and confer with him with a view to be part of the movement.
The result is for all to see as virtually people from all parts of the North ranging from Sokoto to Borno have found a new vehicle to Eldorado.
A fore taste of the huge loss to befall self-appointed political gladiators occurred recently in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital when Governor Babagana Zulum was booed for canvassing votes for the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the South, particularly in the Niger Delta region, the coming on board of the immediate past National Secretary of the APC, Sen. Akpan Udoedehe as well as a former minister, Pastor Usani Usani seems to have tipped some balance in favour of the NNPP in the region.
With the impending defection of some bigwigs into the party across the country especially from the Niger Delta region, NNPP is now set to compete favourable and win the next year presidential election.
