Katsina State governor Dikko Radda has revealed that his administration has identified some traditional rulers who are aiding and abetting banditry in the State.
During a media chat in Abuja, he stated that his administration is making concerted efforts to curb criminal activities and that his government won’t negotiate with bandits or any other criminal elements.
He also revealed that some traditional rulers have been identified and are already under scrutiny for their alleged involvement in the banditry. Governor Radda reiterated his administration’s commitment to bring to justice anyone found to be involved in any criminal activity in the state, regardless of their status or position.
He stated that even his commissioners or any other government official found to be complicit in any form of criminality wouldn’t be spared. The governor expressed concern over the incessant attacks on residents of the state and said that his administration is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to curb the menace.
He also stated that his government is working hard to gather relevant information, along with intelligence from the DSS, to track down and prosecute those found wanting. Governor Radda’s announcement is a clear indication of his administration’s zero-tolerance for any form of criminality in the state.
It also underscores the need for traditional rulers to desist from aiding and abetting banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
