LASTMA GM, Bakare-Oki, Leads Security Agencies to Clear Apapa/Ijora Bridges of Containerised Trucks, Impounds 78

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) recently led an operation to impound 78 containerized trucks that were indiscriminately parked on the bridge by Lilly Pond inward Apapa and Sifax axis of Ijora Olopa in Lagos.

The operation was led by the Agency’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, and lasted for five hours, from 12:00am to 7:00am.
The aim of the exercise was to ensure smooth and seamless traffic for road users in that axis during the festive season and beyond. Bakare-Oki has also stated that the enforcement operation would be a continuous exercise, to demonstrate the Agency’s zero-tolerance for indiscriminate parking and impediments in the axis.
Lastly, Bakare-Oki called on motorists to inform LASTMA of any broken down or abandoned trailer/truck via the Agency’s hotlines 08100565860,08129928490, 08129928515 & 08129928593.
