Falconets To Battle Germany, South Korea In U-20 Women’s World Cup

According to report available to Uptown Press, Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team, Falconets will face the likes of Germany, Venezuela and South Korea in group D of the 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
The draws for the competition took place in Bogota, Colombia on Wednesday.
The hosts country, Colombia will battle it out with Australia, Cameroon and Mexico in Group A.
In Group B, France, Canada, Brazil and Fiji will contend for the two slots to qualify for the next round.
Morocco, Spain, USA and Paraguay have been drawn together in Group C.
Ghana will slug it out with Austria, New Zealand and Japan in Group E.
The competition’s most successful team, Argentina have been paired with The Netherlands, Costa Rica and Korea DPR in Group F.
This is the first time in the history of the competition that 24 teams will participate. Matches will take place in four venues in three different cities Bogotá, Medellín and Cali.
The first and second in each group will advance to the second round of the competition while the best four third-placed teams will also be rewarded with a knockout stage slot.
Christopher Danjuma-led Falconets will be hoping to go a step better in Colombia to win their first trophy in the competition having finished runners-up twice in 2010 and 2014.
The competition kicks off on August 31 to September 22 in Colombia.
