Disturbing new details have emerged about the Russian tourist who was gored by a cow while allegedly attempting to rape the animal in Surat Thani.

Evgenii Kuvshinov, 26, was arrested on August 15 after an incident that has shocked both local authorities and the public.

According to police reports, Kuvshinov, who was vacationing in Thailand, was found at a farm attempting to mount a female cow that was tied to a fence.

Witnesses and officials say that the cow reacted aggressively, pinning Kuvshinov to the ground and goring him. He sustained significant injuries and was taken to a local hospital by police.

The bizarre case has garnered international attention, particularly given Kuvshinov’s unusual circumstances. He had recently been through a personal crisis, including a breakup with his girlfriend, a flight attendant from Casablanca.

It has been revealed that Kuvshinov’s mental state may have deteriorated following the breakup. He reportedly reached out to prominent figures, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, in desperate pleas to reconcile with his ex.

Kuvshinov, a beauty industry marketing specialist, had been living outside Russia since 2022. He left his homeland amid political turmoil and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, moving first to Turkey, then Dubai, and finally to Thailand.

His decision to relocate appeared motivated by an attempt to avoid conscription into the Russian military.

Further scrutiny of Kuvshinov’s background reveals that he was seen frequently in luxury settings and was associated with high-profile individuals, including Russian blogger Ilya Varlamov. However, his recent behaviour has raised serious concerns.

During the incident, authorities found cannabis in Kuvshinov’s car, which led them to speculate that he may have been under the influence. Police Lieutenant Thongchai Chaikit from Ban Na Doem Police Station reported that when officers arrived, Kuvshinov was being attacked by the cow.

The lieutenant noted that Kuvshinov appeared disoriented, speaking incoherently in Russian, and lacked any noticeable smell of alcohol. His passport was found torn apart, adding to the confusion surrounding his state of mind.

Currently, Kuvshinov is detained at the local police station. Local doctors have refused to admit him due to his erratic behavior, and authorities are now waiting for tourist and immigration police to address the situation. Kuvshinov is believed to have overstayed his Thai visa, and his deportation back to Russia is pending.
