Update: DSS Arrests 2 Over Uromi Killings, Transfers Suspects to Abuja

Two prime suspects linked to the recent killing of 16 Nigerians in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, have been apprehended by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Acting on credible intelligence, the DSS arrested the individuals in Uromi and subsequently transferred them to Abuja for further interrogation and prosecution. Security agencies are continuing their search for other key suspects connected to the attack.

The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, had earlier disclosed during a condolence visit to Kano State that a total of 14 suspects had already been arrested in relation to the killings. While addressing the bereaved families, he assured them that justice would be served and pledged compensation for those affected.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that all those responsible for the incident face the full weight of the law.
