The member representing Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Dr. Edosa Osaro Richard, has called for the dismantling of institutional and social barriers that perpetuate poverty and hinder inclusive growth.
Dr. Richard made the call in a statement issued in Benin City on Friday to commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
The lawmaker, who also serves as Deputy Chief Whip of the Assembly, urged stakeholders to promote systems that uphold dignity, equality, and access to opportunities for all citizens.
“Today, as we mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, we stand for dignity, equality, and better support for every family,” he said. “Let’s end social and institutional barriers that keep people in poverty.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to championing policies that empower communities and ensure equitable development across Edo State.
