Member representing Oredo West Constituency and Deputy Chief Whip of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr Edosa Richard, has issued a clarion call for intensified HIV awareness, early testing, and an unwavering societal commitment to ending stigma as the world marks World AIDS Day 2025.
In a statement on Monday, Dr Richard urged Nigerians to remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses, stand firmly with people living with HIV, and work collectively towards expanding access to care.
He noted that while HIV is no longer a death sentence, early detection, consistent treatment, and sustained public education remain the strongest tools in preventing new infections and safeguarding public health.
Dr Richard encouraged regular screening across communities and stressed the importance of compassion in supporting individuals living with the virus.
“Together, we can build a community free from discrimination and full of hope,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to promoting inclusive health policies and a supportive environment where every citizen can live a healthy, fulfilling life.
