Long after the final whistle, the loudest noise wasn’t celebration—it was the ugly echo of Victor Osimhen’s confrontation with Ademola Lookman, a moment that dragged team unity into the mud and shifted focus from collective triumph to individual tantrum.
This was not a passion. This was an entitlement on public display.
Harrison Iyonmana didn’t mince words, and neither should anyone who cares about the Super Eagles.
Osimhen, he insists, must be cut to size now. Not tomorrow. Not after the damage is done.

That same grace was denied to Lookman, who responded with calm, composure, and maturity, the very qualities expected from a player wearing the responsibility Osimhen claims to carry.
Citizen Football echoed the concern, Osimhen is elite, yes, but leadership demands discipline. Character matters. Especially on a team thriving on shared goals and collective responsibility.
With different players stepping up, with Adams Akor proving depth and hunger, the Super Eagles are bigger than any single star.
This is why the Nigeria Football Federation and the technical crew must act. Silence now is consent. Delay is dangerous. A stitch in time saves nine, and the stitch is a hard, honest conversation that reminds Osimhen where greatness truly lives—in service, not supremacy.
The monster must be tamed before it consumes the room.
