As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the people of Edo South Senatorial District are once again faced with an important decision — choosing the right leader who can effectively represent their interests at the National Assembly.
At this critical moment, one name clearly stands out: Senator Neda Imasuen.
Since assuming office, Senator Imasuen has demonstrated uncommon commitment, competence and a deep understanding of the legislative responsibilities required to deliver meaningful representation. His tenure has been marked by purposeful engagement in lawmaking, oversight functions and advocacy for policies that promote development, stability and opportunities for the people of Edo South.
His voice in the Senate has consistently reflected the concerns and aspirations of the district, ensuring that Edo South remains visible and relevant in national conversations that shape Nigeria’s democratic and economic direction.
But beyond the achievements already recorded, the future holds even greater promise.
By 2027, Senator Imasuen is positioned to become a ranking Senator, a status in the National Assembly that carries strategic advantages for constituency development. Ranking lawmakers often occupy influential committee positions, shape legislative priorities and attract critical federal projects that directly benefit their districts.
For Edo South, this means greater access to federal attention, stronger policy influence and the consolidation of the gains already made during his current tenure.
Replacing a performing senator at such a crucial stage would mean losing the legislative experience, institutional relationships and influence that Senator Imasuen has painstakingly built in the Senate.
Continuity, therefore, is not just desirable — it is strategic.
This is why the good people of Edo South must rally behind him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its primary election in the coming months. Party faithful, community leaders, youths, women and stakeholders across the seven local government areas of the district have a collective responsibility to ensure that the ticket of the party goes to the candidate who has proven capacity, credibility and a track record of service.
Senator Imasuen represents stability, experience and results.
Supporting and re-electing him for a second term will not only strengthen the voice of Edo South in the Senate but also guarantee that the district continues to benefit from purposeful representation and strategic legislative influence.
