Hundreds of teachers today marched to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) headquarters in Banjul, demanding action over unpaid salaries, delayed grade point adjustments, and unfulfilled promises.
The protesters are among 511 in-service teachers who graduated from the University of Education, The Gambia, in English and Islamic Studies.
They say only 91 graduates have received the promised grade point and professional status upgrades, leaving more than 400 still waiting.
Many also claim they are owed up to eight months of salary-related payments and have been unable to obtain important academic documents, including attestations and transcripts.
