Edo Lawmaker, Dr Edosa Distributes Farm Inputs to Fadama Farmers, Reaffirms Commitment to Food Security

The member representing Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, Dr. Richard Edosa, has distributed knapsack sprayers and fertiliser inputs to members of the Federated Fadama Farmers, reaffirming his commitment to boosting agricultural productivity and strengthening food security in Edo State.

The empowerment initiative, which targeted local farmers with essential farming tools and inputs, forms part of efforts to improve crop yields, enhance livelihoods and support government programmes aimed at revitalising the agricultural sector.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Edosa described agriculture as the backbone of every prosperous society, stressing that empowering farmers remains one of the most effective strategies for reducing poverty, creating employment and guaranteeing affordable food for residents.

According to him, providing farmers with the right tools and inputs is a direct investment in a more prosperous and food-secure Edo State.

“By supporting our farmers with the necessary tools and inputs, we are investing in a more prosperous and food-secure future for our people,” he said.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his resolve to champion initiatives that improve the welfare of his constituents, promote economic empowerment and complement the state’s development agenda.

He stated that his legislative mandate goes beyond lawmaking to delivering impactful interventions that improve the quality of life of the people of Oredo West.

Dr. Edosa also expressed appreciation to Governor Monday Okpebholo for what he described as visionary leadership and sustained support for policies designed to transform agriculture and improve rural livelihoods.
