Oredo Market Women Back Dr Edosa for 2027, Declare: ‘He Deserves Continuity’

Market women and leaders from Oredo and neighbouring communities have thrown their weight behind Hon. Dr. Richard Osaro Edosa, member representing Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, declaring their support for his return to the Assembly in 2027.

The market leaders made their position known during a solidarity visit to the Edo State House of Assembly complex in Benin City, where they endorsed Edosa for continuity under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The delegation was led by the Edo State Governor’s Special Adviser on Market Matters, Hon. Julian Ikharo.

The women praised Edosa’s constituency projects and empowerment initiatives, saying his interventions had delivered tangible benefits to traders and residents across the constituency.

They subsequently pledged to mobilise market women and their networks in support of his re-election bid, insisting that his performance deserves continuity.

Receiving the delegation, Edosa expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him, maintaining that his political journey is anchored on service, conscience and empowering the people rather than merely pursuing political office.

“I am not a topical politician who believes only in seeking re-election. I am a politician with conscience who believes in empowering our people and putting smiles on their faces.”

The lawmaker also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, whom he described as his leader, father and mentor.

The endorsement assumed a symbolic dimension when the market women decorated Edosa with a campaign apron, signalling their solidarity and publicly reaffirming their commitment to his 2027 ambition.

The development represents a significant show of grassroots support for the lawmaker, particularly from a key constituency of traders and market stakeholders whose networks cut across communities in Oredo and adjoining areas.
