Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has dissolved all ad hoc committees of the lower chamber with immediate effect.
The sweeping directive was conveyed in a notice issued by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Sidi Ibrahim, on Saturday.
The directive brings the activities of all ad hoc committees to an immediate halt, marking a major administrative decision by the House leadership.
The development is expected to affect ongoing assignments and activities being handled by the committees pending further directives from the leadership of the House.
