The raining season is here and almost all the community in Uzairue Kingdom are in a great danger by the devastating floods that is ravaging every community.
Some weeks ago, the flood affected some communities in a manner which no one expected.
The rains started just like any other rain fall but what we saw was devastating, disastrous by the erosion that destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
When Divine Media Group carry out physical assessment of what caused the flood destruction,we discovered that some residents built their houses on water ways and channels, some block water drainages where the flood ought to be passing through. Remember water must always find is way in any situation.
While going further to investigate the communities that are mostly affected, we discovered that AFASHIO express road to IDATTO , AYOGWIRI- AGENEBODE road are on the verge of cutting into two, also affected are the ancient UZAIRUE MARKET located at JATTU, EGE- AKI MARKET and AYUA community all in Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government of Edo State.
We realized there was no proper planning when most of these buildings where built and town planners were not consulted to supervise the construction.
We are using the medium to call on traditional institution, captain of industries and the state government to find a lasting solution as a matter of urgency to attend this ugly situation because if not attended to ,more properties worth millions of naira will be destroyed by the flood.
Finally, we call on the State Government to connect some of these drainages to major ones, construct new ones and clear the gutters from Jattu to Agenebode.
