Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, has walked out ENYIMBA TV and RADIO LTD Umuahia Correspondent, Kingsley Chibuike from a press briefing without any explanation.
The press conference which took place at the conference hall of the Abia State House of Assembly, had in attendance the Speaker, Deputy Speaker of the house, the Assembly liaison to the Governor of Abia State, Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Journalists from different Media houses, amongst others.
The Media briefing which was to commence by 10:30am, was delayed till about noon, before the ejection of ENYIMBA TV and RADIO LTD Correspondent by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker and the Secretary, House committee on information of the Assembly.
The already seated members of the press had been informed not to ask questions relating to the speaker’s continued refusal to swear in Aaron Uzodike for Aba North State Constituency.
ENYIMBA FM investigations however revealed that the instruction was directly from the Speaker.
It will be recalled that the Speaker had in a press conference last week blamed an unexplained legal restriction on his continued refusal to swear in Aaron Uzodike despite issuance of Certificate of return by INEC as directed by the court.
