Atiku Abubakar Mourns Pupils Lost in Tragic Zamfara School Fire

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire that claimed the lives of 17 pupils at the Makarantar Mallam Ghali Almajiri School in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

The devastating incident occurred on Tuesday night, leaving families and the community in mourning. In a statement released on Wednesday, Atiku described the loss as heartbreaking, particularly as the children were striving for an education despite challenges.

“It is even more saddening that these young ones lost their lives in pursuit of education against all odds,” he said.

Sharing his condolences on social media, Atiku extended his sympathies to the bereaved families, the Zamfara State government, and the school’s staff and students.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of all deceased children. My deepest condolences to the families, the students and staff of Makarantar Mallam Ghali Almajiri School, and the government and people of Zamfara State. May they be granted Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen,” he stated.
