Garin Idi, Sokoto State – The peace of a quiet northern village was shattered late Monday night when notorious bandits led by terror kingpin Kallamu Buzu launched a brutal assault on Garin Idi, the ancestral home of Sokoto State’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir.
The attackers, armed and merciless, invaded under the cover of darkness, abducting an unspecified number of residents and leaving families in disarray and fear. The sleepy community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area is now gripped by trauma, uncertainty, and the echoing cries of those whose loved ones were taken.
While the official number of abducted victims remains unknown, eyewitnesses describe a chaotic scene of gunshots, screaming, and panic as the heavily armed group descended without warning.
Security analyst Bakatsine, who broke the news via a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed the identity of the bandit leader and highlighted the symbolic weight of the target:
“Moments ago, notorious bandits kingpin Kallamu Buzu attacked Garin Idi, the ancestral home of Sokoto Deputy Governor Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir. Several residents were abducted during the raid.”
As of Tuesday morning, no formal response has been issued by the Sokoto State Police Command or government officials, sparking public concern over the growing boldness of bandits and the apparent vulnerability of even high-profile communities.
