Bauchi Stands Still As Party Supporters, Mammoth Crowd Welcomes Gov. Mohammed

Governor Mohammed was received by party supporters at the Abubakar Tafawa International Airport, Bauchi.
There were heavy jubilations in the state on Saturday as residents of the state thronged the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport to receive Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi following his affirmation at the Supreme Court as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State.
Many elated residents of the state came out in their thousands on the streets of Bauchi state, chanting solidarity songs and dancing and raising placards to express their joy over Governor Mohammed’s victory at the Apex Court, a development that further testified to his strong popularity and wide acceptance by the people of the state.
The arrival of the governor to the state was greeted with a rally held in his honor that lasted for almost two hours. The rally took off with a convoy that commenced from the Awala Roundabout, moving through the streets of the city.
The governor, his wife, the Deputy Governor, and other senior government officials mounted an open van, where they waved to hundreds of cheering supporters as the convoy moved through Ran Road, up to the Emir Palace, down to Nasarawa Jahun, and terminated at the government house in Bauchi.
Speaking today during a victory rally in Bauchi at the end of a rousing welcome back home, the governor said, “I have spent eight days in Abuja trying to depend on your mandate, and we thank the almighty Allah that we emerged victorious after a series of campaigns of calumny against me by my political opponents.”
He added that “this victory is not about Bala Mohammad; it is from God and for the people of Bauchi State. We are sincerely humbled by this victory, and we dedicate it to the Almighty God and to the good people of Bauchi State.”
The governor called on the entire people of the state to celebrate in peace, adding that the celebration could only make sense when every Bauchi child of school age is in the classroom.
“Our victory and celebration can only make sense after every Bauchi child of school age is in the classroom when every school leaver is practically engaged and when every pregnant woman has reasonable assurances that she will not die at childbirth.
“It can only make sense when our retired men and women can receive their legitimate entitlement, which is their pension and gratuities, as and when due,” he said.
He reiterated his promise to work hard and to offer the state purposeful leadership, and he extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents and their supporters.
The governor called on the entire people of the state to celebrate in peace, adding that the celebration could only make sense when every Bauchi child of school age is in the classroom.
The governor urged them to join him in the quest to rebuild Bauchi State. The Kaura Social Media Forum (KSMF-TV) reports that when the governor arrived, the state capital stood still as people from all walks of life celebrated his victory at the Supreme Court.
