President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus has expressed his country’s strong desire to enhance collaboration with Nigeria across several key economic sectors.
This statement came during his meeting with Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

During the meeting, President Lukashenko emphasized Belarus’s readiness to partner with Nigeria in agriculture, food processing, industry, and education. The President, speaking through an interpreter, highlighted the significance of Senator Tinubu’s visit, stating that it has reinforced his administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
“We know your needs and we know the possibilities that you have. Let me underline that these possibilities are important and could be mutually beneficial,” said President Lukashenko. He particularly noted the potential for collaboration in specialist training, aiming to leverage Belarus’s expertise to support Nigeria’s development goals.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s visit to Belarus is seen as a significant step towards fostering closer ties between the two countries, which have been seeking to expand their cooperation in various fields.
The discussions held during this visit are expected to pave the way for more detailed agreements and joint projects in the near future.
