Bendel Insurance Train Hits Aba As Coach Ikhenoba Charges Team To End NPFL 1st Round In Celebration

As the traveling team of Bendel Insurance Football Club arrives at the commercial city of Aba in Abia state ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League match day 19 tie against former CAF Champions League winners Enyimba FC, the Head Coach Greg Ikhenoba has charged the players to be at their best in order to end the first round of the season in celebration.

Coach Ikhenoba gave the charge as the Benin Arsenals arrived in Aba,Sunday evening, saying that the league is becoming more interesting as teams now get victories away from home, making it very open for any team to prove themselves.

He encouraged his boys to see themselves as champions and capable of beating Enyimba as they face the biggest team in the country. He told them not to see the People’s Elephants of Aba as giants.

“Gentlemen,as we prepare for the last game of the first round,do yourselves the honour by stepping up your game against Enyimba. Make yourselves and Edo people proud. Do not feel that you are playing for anybody but for yourself and your career. Nothing stops us from winning in Aba. Remove any negative thoughts and fears that you are playing against a big team in their domain.
We just have to do our very best to get good results in Aba. Let us end the first round on a good note. Winning is possible, depending on our mentality. So, I urge you guys to have that winning mentality. We selected you for this battle believing you can deliver,so see yourselves as worthy and ready for the big task.” Coach Ikhenoba said.

Insurance FC are currently 16th on the league table with 20 points after three points deducted from them as punishment for fans trouble and are facing Enyimba FC on Tuesday 31st in their last match of the first round.

Enyimba FC who are 11th on the log with 23 points but having three outstanding games recently replaced their Head Coach, Yemi Olarenwaju with former coach of Rivers Utd Stanley Eguma

This change of tactician followed a string of poor results, with the team winning just one game in their last 12 matches.

Coach Eguma will be in charge on Tuesday when they host Bendel Insurance FC in the live game at their International stadium in Aba. Kickoff time is 4PM.
