In a major boost to Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s gubernatorial ambition, 50 market traders in Etsako East Local Government received financial empowerment from Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor, a United Kingdom-based Surgeon.
The financial support, known as Benedicta’s Market Women Money, was distributed by Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh, the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government.
The distribution took place at the Imiekuri market in Okpella and the Ebelle Market in North Ivie.
Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh, visibly moved by the overwhelming turnout of women, expressed her solidarity with them, stating that, she understands their struggles firsthand.
She reassured the women of her commitment to standing by them and providing ongoing support.
Each of the 40 petty traders at the Ebelle Market received a financial assistance of 5000 naira, with Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh urging them to invest the money in their businesses for additional income.
This initiative follows previous efforts to empower women, including distributing financial assistance at the Agenebode main market and providing support to widows in Ward 10 in Okpekpe.
Furthermore, Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh also took the opportunity to promote the Edo State PDP Governorship candidate Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his Deputy Osarodion Ogie, distributing campaign materials such as crested aprons, caps, and handbills across various communities and markets in the council.
She expressed her confidence in the candidates, highlighting their education, knowledge, experience, and commitment to moving Edo State forward.
