The Supreme Court has ruled against Barrister Julius Abure, removing him from his position as National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).
In a judgment delivered in Abuja, the apex court held that Abure’s continued stay in office contravened the party’s constitution, stating that he had exceeded the legally permitted tenure stipulated in the party’s internal guidelines.
The ruling brings an end to a long-running leadership dispute within the party, and sets the stage for a new phase in the Labour Party’s internal reorganisation.
