The Senator representing Edo South, Neda Imasuen, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is strategically positioned to secure victory in both the Ovia Federal Constituency and Edo Central senatorial bye-elections scheduled for 16 August.
Speaking at the party’s campaign rally in Utoka and Iguoshodin wards, Ovia North East Local Government Area, on Friday, Senator Imasuen said the APC was united, energised, and committed to delivering a decisive win in the two polls.
“It is in the interest of our party to win both elections. We have the structure, the candidates, and the goodwill of the people on our side,” the senator stated, urging party faithful to mobilise extensively ahead of voting day.
The rally marked the conclusion of APC’s campaign in the 13 wards of Ovia North East LGA. The party’s candidate for the Ovia seat, Ms Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion, was presented as the choice to bring tangible development to the constituency.
Deputy Governor Hon Dennis Idahosa hailed Igbinedion’s experience as a former member of the House of Representatives, describing her as “competent, reliable, and capable of delivering on the needs of the people.”
Ms Igbinedion, buoyed by what she described as a growing support base, revealed that the immediate past deputy governor, Marvelous Omobayo, had paid her a surprise visit and requested her campaign cap, pledging to wear it throughout the campaign period.
With confidence running high, Senator Imasuen urged supporters to remain vigilant, intensify grassroots mobilisation, and ensure the APC claims victory in both contests, cementing its influence in Edo politics.
