There was a bit of commotion at the Senate on Wednesday as a Ministerial nominee, Abbas Balarabe from Kaduna State, collapsed while explaining his profile.
He was the second to be screened for confirmation, but unfortunately fainted shortly after he took turns to be screened by lawmakers. In response, the Sergeant-At-Arms ordered journalists out of the Chambers.
Senator Ishaku Abbo representing Adamawa North personally rushed him to the National Assembly Clinic to seek for medical attention.
A wheel chair was immediately rushed to the Chamber as he could not be revived to walk by himself.
It’s worth noting that the nominee replaced the former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who was declined confirmation due to security concerns.
