The Federal Government of Nigeria is actively seeking to strengthen humanitarian response capabilities in partnership with the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
During a visit to the Secretary General of the UAE Red Crescent, H.E Hammoud Al-Junaibi, Dr Betta Edu, the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, outlined their plans to implement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Policy on Humanitarian Response in Nigeria, as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
This partnership between the two countries is expected to be a significant step forward in addressing the country’s humanitarian needs. The UAE Red Crescent Authority has a long history of providing humanitarian aid and assistance around the world, and their expertise and resources will prove invaluable in supporting Nigeria’s efforts.
The partnership will also provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and skills transfer, which will help to build capacity and improve the effectiveness of Nigeria’s humanitarian response efforts.
The partnership will focus on a range of areas, including emergency response, disaster management, and long-term sustainable development. By working together, the two countries hope to achieve their shared goal of alleviating poverty, reducing suffering, and promoting human dignity.
