The ongoing custody battle for Imade Adeleke has taken a dramatic turn as her mother, Sophia Momodu, filed a counter-affidavit presenting numerous reasons why their daughter should remain in her custody rather than with her father, the renowned singer Davido.
In the affidavit, Sophia Momodu, represented by her team of lawyers, has alleged serious misconduct on the part of Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke. She claims that throughout their tumultuous relationship, Davido’s primary interest in her was sexual. According to the affidavit, Momodu states, “Davido always only wanted me for sex. I broke up with him because of his unfaithful cheating habits.”
The allegations go deeper, painting a picture of a relationship marred by manipulation and emotional abuse. Momodu accuses Davido of using their daughter, Imade, as leverage to continue their sexual relationship.
“I was tired of his lies and unfaithfulness, but he always used the withdrawal of his fatherly duties and maintenance for our daughter as a pawn to force me to resume the sexual relationship with him,” Momodu asserts in her statement.
One of the most significant and emotionally charged reasons Momodu cites for seeking custody is the tragic death of Ifeanyi, Davido’s son from another relationship.
