A Customs officer attached to the Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘B’, Kaduna, has been found dead in his hostel at a training school in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The deceased, identified as Okechukwu Chukwuemeka Sunday, was undergoing training at the Federal Ministry of Works Training School in the Agbeloba area of Abeokuta before his sudden passing.
According to reports, his absence was noticed on the morning of 23rd February 2025, when fellow trainees were preparing to attend Sunday service. Concerned by his failure to emerge from his room, some colleagues forced the door open and discovered his lifeless body on the floor.
The Vice Principal of the training school, Adesola Segun Adebayo, subsequently reported the incident at the Adigbe Police Division at around 9:12 am.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed that officers dispatched to the scene found no signs of violence on the body. “Photographs were taken for documentation, and the body was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, for an autopsy,” she said.
Authorities are currently working to contact the deceased’s family and unit as investigations into the cause of death continue.
