Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber who attempted to conceal a fake firearm inside a loaf of bread in an effort to evade detection.
According to a statement released on Monday, the suspect was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation conducted by officers attached to the command. The improvised weapon, disguised within the loaf, was discovered upon thorough inspection by the police.
Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the vigilance of the officers and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order across the state.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
