Police in Ogun State have launched an intense manhunt for a man identified as Oju, who allegedly stabbed his wife, Josephine Isaac, to death in the Agbure Community, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
The tragic incident occurred following a domestic dispute, which quickly escalated into a deadly attack. The 36-year-old victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest before succumbing to her injuries.
According to police reports, Isaac Blessing, the victim’s younger sister, reported the harrowing event at the Abigi Police Division on the morning of 6 March 2025. Officers swiftly responded to the scene, gathering evidence before transferring the deceased to Ibiade General Hospital, where doctors confirmed her death.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the suspect fled immediately after the attack. “Detectives are actively working on the case, and the matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation,” she said.
The police have strongly condemned domestic violence, urging residents to seek peaceful means of resolving conflicts. “The Command remains committed to ensuring justice is served, and we encourage anyone with relevant information on the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward,” Odutola added.
Authorities have called on the public to report any suspected cases of domestic abuse to the nearest police station or emergency helplines to prevent further tragedies.
