The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a 32-year-old blogger accused of cloning its official website to post a fake recruitment notice.

Sylvester Victor Augustus, a resident of Abak in Akwa Ibom State, was arrested by DSS operatives on Thursday at his residence on Akpan Eno Lane in Abak. The suspect, who claims to be a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), works as a blogger and content creator.

According to the DSS, Augustus replicated the agency’s website and used it to publish a fraudulent job recruitment announcement, likely aimed at deceiving unsuspecting Nigerians. The agency had earlier issued a public warning, declaring the notice a hoax and urging citizens not to fall victim to such schemes.
