Edo Assembly Deputy Chief Whip Hails Newly Elected Councillors, Urges Dedication to Grassroots Development

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Richard Osaro Edosa, has congratulated the newly elected councillors in Oredo West and other parts of the State, describing their victories as a resounding expression of the people’s trust and confidence in their leadership.

In a statement personally signed and released to journalists on Sunday, Edosa, who represents Oredo West Constituency in the Assembly, charged the councillors to serve with unwavering dedication, integrity, and vision.

“Your victory reflects the people’s trust in your capacity to lead at the grassroots. I urge you to serve with dedication, integrity, and vision. Together, we will continue to strengthen our communities and deliver true dividends of democracy,” he said.

Edosa noted that the local government system remains the closest tier of governance to the people, stressing that the councillors must justify the mandate freely given to them by prioritising community development, accountability, and responsive representation.

He reaffirmed his readiness to work with the newly elected councillors to deepen democratic dividends in Oredo West and beyond, while also commending the electorate for their peaceful participation in the just-concluded poll.

“Once again, congratulations on this well-deserved success,” he added.
