Edo Assembly marks end of 3rd quarter with Nine laws and Thirty two Resolutions

The Speaker, of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku has felicitated with members of the 8Th Assembly as they mark the end of the third quarter, 1st session of the House.

Rt.Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku stated this during today’s plenary session marking the end of the third quarter, the first session of the eighth(8th) Assembly.

Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku during the plenary also commended the 24 members of the eight Assembly for adequate, and people-centric representation which has given the people a better life and appropriate laws which will stand the test of time.
He went further to mention some of the achievements recorded by the Eighth(8th) Assembly to include the passage of Nine bills of which eight(8) have assented to by the Governor,Mr Godwin Obaseki while three more bills which include the Bill for a law to Establish the Edo State Fire Service are at various stages of consideration.

Mr Speaker also disclosed that the 8th Assembly has Thirty two resolutions to its credit .

The Speaker also informed the public of the readiness of the eighth(8th) Assembly to ensure a good life for the citizens of the State which prompted the legislators to invite the Federal Road Maintenance Agency and Federal Ministry of Works over the deplorable conditions of federal roads, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company and Transmission Company to the Hallow Chambers to explain the The Speaker, of Edo State House of Assembly Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku, has frowned on the deplorable State of federal roads in the state.
He stated this during today’s plenary session to make the end of the third quarter, the first session of the eighth(8th) Assembly.

Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku during the plenary also commended the 24 members of the eight Assembly for adequate, and people-centric representation which has given the people a better life and appropriate laws which will stand the test of time.
He went further to mention some of the achievements recorded by the Eighth(8th) Assembly which include the revised Appropriation Law 2024, Nine(9) laws have been passed by the House and eight(8) have received Mr Governor’s assent. And more laws are in the committee stages like the Bill for a law to Establish the Edo State Fire Service Law. And the numerous resolutions passed by the House.

The Speaker also informed the public of the readiness of the eighth(8th) Assembly to ensure a good life for the citizens of the State which prompted the legislators to invite the Federal Road Maintenance Agency and Federal Ministry of Works over the deplorable conditions of federal roads, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company and Transmission Company to the Hallowed Chambers to explain the reasons for the epileptic power supply in the state and the area they need the House assistance.

He also thanked the staff of the Assembly for their dedication to duties and advised all staff to remain dedicated to work.
He emphasized that the eighth(8th) Assembly is poised to work in synergy and unity with the executive ably led by the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki to aid him in finishing well and achieving his Mega agenda in the State.

The House plenary was thereafter adjourned to May 6th after a motion moved by Hon Ojie Inegbeboh and seconded by Hon Yekin Idaiye.
