Edo State House of Assembly today received the Year 2024 revised Edo State Budget for Consideration and approval.
Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku made this known under messages from the Governor.
Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku thereafter directed the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Yahaya Audu Omogbai to invite relevant agencies including the Commissioner of Finance and Budget, as well as the Accountant General of the State to appear before the House on Tuesday 21st May 2024, for fine tuning.
Consideration of a motion calling on the local Government councils in Edo state to perform their functions of Naming the streets and numbering of houses in their constituencies as enshrined in the fifth schedule, section 1 (G) of the 1999 constitution( as amended) deferred to a later date.

The House adjourned to Wednesday 22nd May after a motion moved by Hon Osamwoyin Atu and seconded by Hon Ganiyu Akokhia.

The traders led by the President of the Traders Welfare Union, Comrade Lucky Orukpe also expressed their displeasure over the activities of unionists calling for free market and free trading.
In his response, the Speaker thanked them for their orderly conduct and stressed that an ad-hoc Committee would be set up to look into the issues raised to find an amicable solution.
