A motor mechanic, Mr Eguaseki Augustine Osazuwa, has issued a heartfelt plea to the public for financial assistance after the birth of his quadruplets at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) on 2 June 2025.
The birth of the four babies has brought immense joy to the family, but it has also left Mr Osazuwa facing an overwhelming financial challenge. His modest earnings as a mechanic, he says, are nowhere near enough to support the immediate and long-term needs of the newborns.
“I am grateful to God for this miracle, but the financial demands are really telling on me,” Mr Osazuwa said in an emotional interview. “As a motor mechanic, my income is not enough to handle this situation. I am calling on the government, well-meaning Nigerians, and corporate organisations to assist me because I don’t have money now and I am financially exhausted. The hospital has really been very helpful.”
His wife remains under medical supervision in Ward M2 of UBTH, where both she and the babies are receiving ongoing care and monitoring from hospital staff.
Mr Osazuwa is appealing to the general public, charitable individuals, and organisations to support his family during this critical time.
