The Edo State High Court has declared as illegal the removal of Hon. Yakubu Musa as elected Chairman of Etsako West Local Government from office by governor Godwin Obaseki.
The Edo State High Court in Benin City, delivered its Judgement today, Monday 27th September, 2021 and held that the State Governor and his allies have no such power to remove a duly elected Local Government Council Chairman as he did, and therefore acted in error and constitutional breaches. Chief Musa was however reinstated to his office with all his entitlements. The Judge also referred to the Supreme Court judgement on same issue in the past to arrive at his conclusion.
