As Nigeria marked her 65th Independence anniversary on Wednesday, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr Edosa Richard, extended warm felicitations to Nigerians, describing the nation’s journey as one of resilience and undying hope.
In a statement issued by his media team to commemorate the twin occasion of Independence Day and the beginning of a new month, Dr Richard lauded the courage of the country’s founding fathers and called on citizens to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice, equity, and development.
“Our nation’s story is one of resilience and undying hope. Today, we salute the courage of our founding fathers and encourage every citizen to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice, equity, and development,” the statement read in part.
He further prayed that the month of October and the Independence celebrations would “usher in unity, breakthroughs, and renewed strength” for Nigeria, stressing that collective effort was vital for the country to overcome its current challenges.
“Together, we will rise stronger,” the lawmaker assured, while urging Nigerians to embrace a spirit of unity and nation-building.
The message comes as Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora mark 65 years since independence from British colonial rule, a moment often used to reflect on the country’s challenges and prospects for the future.
