Edo PDP Unveils Campaign Council For guber Election

The Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the Campaign Council for the upcoming Governorship Election scheduled to take place on September 21, 2024. Tony Anenih (Jnr.), the State Organizing Secretary of the party, issued a statement detailing the members of the Campaign Council.
The Council comprises versatile members of the PDP who have been carefully selected to lead the party’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, to victory.

Anenih (Jnr.) explained that the campaign structure is made up of an Advisory Council, a Management Committee, a State Campaign Council, a women’s wing, and a youth wing. The Advisory Council is to be chaired by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, while the Management Committee comprises the Director General and 13 Deputy Director Generals for Finance, Contact and Mobilization, Media/Publicity Field Operations, Security, among others.
The State Campaign Council is made up of 200 prominent members of the PDP, with the women’s wing to be led by the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ighodalo. The youth wing will be led by the Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor.

Anenih (Jnr.) emphasized that the selection process was carried out under the direct supervision of the party leaders, headed by the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver an erudite, intellectually sound, and broad-minded candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

The State Organizing Secretary further noted that the youth and women’s wings would be working independently but have a symbiotic relationship with other Directorates. He congratulated the selected members and urged them to hit the ground running on behalf of the party.
