Edo Police arrest 2 suspected kidnappers

The Police authority in Edo State has arrested two suspected kidnappers in the State. The suspects were identified as Chinedu Clement, aged 34, and Usman Abdullahi, aged 40. Chinedu Clement was arrested by operatives of Iguobazuwa division, following credible intelligence. He was apprehended at a kidnapper’s hideout along Ikoha Road, Ugbogui. The suspect is believed to be a member of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the area.

Similarly, Usman Abdullahi was arrested by operatives of Ugboha Division during a stop and search operation along Ugboha-Uromi Road. The suspect was identified as a kidnapper by two of his victims. Upon his arrest, the police recovered one face mask, four packets of cigarettes, and food items from him.

The police have disclosed that the suspects made statements and confessed to being kidnappers. They will soon be charged to court to face charges related to kidnapping. The State Police Commissioner, Funsho Adeboye, has commended the police operatives for their efforts in apprehending the suspects. He has also urged members of the public to continue to support the police by providing timely information that could help in curbing criminal activities in the state.
