As Easter approaches, the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, CP Monday Agbonika, has assured residents of a peaceful and secure celebration, reaffirming the police command’s commitment to public safety throughout the festive period.
In a message delivered through the Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Joel Yamu, CP Agbonika extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community, urging citizens to reflect on the core values of the season — love, peace, humility, and unity — as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
To guarantee public safety, CP Agbonika revealed that the police command has rolled out comprehensive security arrangements across the state. These include heightened patrols through an “Operation Show of Force”, as well as the strategic deployment of both uniformed and undercover officers to public places expected to experience increased activity, such as shopping centres, leisure spots, and worship venues.
“We are fully prepared to maintain law and order during this holiday. Our officers will be on high alert at key locations to ensure swift response to any potential threats or disturbances,” the statement read.
The Commissioner further appealed to residents to remain vigilant and cooperative, encouraging them to report any suspicious behaviour or incidents without delay.
