In response to escalating security concerns, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, convened an emergency Security Council Meeting on Monday, bringing together key security stakeholders. The summit aimed to develop a robust strategy to strengthen the state’s security framework and safeguard residents.
During the meeting, Governor Okpebholo underscored the pressing need for sustainable peace-building efforts, highlighting the government’s commitment to protecting lives, properties, and the overall stability of the state. He stressed that Edo citizens deserve to live without fear, conduct business without disruption, and see their investments flourish in a secure environment.
The governor further called on residents to embrace collective responsibility, stating that security cannot be left to the government alone. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and collaborate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities, thereby fostering a safer and more resilient community.
