Edo State to Host International Mining Summit in October

The event, themed “Sustainable Mining for Economic Diversification and Investment Growth”, will take place at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City.

According to the organisers, the summit is expected to draw participation from key players across the mining value chain, including federal ministries, parastatals, regulatory agencies, local and international investors, mining firms, equipment manufacturers, professional associations, trade unions, academic institutions, and stakeholders from the oil and gas sector.

The Edo State Government says the event will serve as a strategic platform to showcase the state’s vast solid mineral deposits and attract investment into the mining sector as a viable alternative to oil.

Among dignitaries expected at the summit are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Henry Dele Alake, and the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu.

The summit is anticipated to feature exhibitions, panel discussions, technical sessions, and investment forums, all designed to stimulate actionable dialogue and foster collaborations that will unlock the economic potential of the state’s mineral resources.
