The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mrs Onomen Goodness Briggs, has lauded the State Government’s efforts in transforming public education to meet contemporary global standards.

Speaking on the occasion of the 2025 International Day of Education, Mrs Briggs praised Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to overhauling the education system, ensuring that school curriculums align with modern educational demands.

This year’s theme, “AI and Education: Preserving Agency in a World of Automation”, reflects the growing need to adapt education systems to prepare students for a technology-driven world.

“Education is the foundation of progress and a unifying force that transcends cultures and borders,” Mrs Briggs stated. “It equips individuals with critical thinking skills, empathy, and the ability to navigate an ever-changing world. In Edo State, we are embracing these ideals.”
