Edo south Sanator-elect, Barr. Neda Imasuen has felicitated with muslims in the State. He explained that the essence of the celebration should not be limited to wearing of new clothes and partying but showing love and compassion towards one’s neighbour.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, a copy of which was made available to Uptown Press NG, the incoming lawmaker said:
Dear Muslim Faithfuls,
As you celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid, I want to extend my heartfelt greetings and good wishes to all of you. May this festival of love and brotherhood bring peace, prosperity and happiness to our country.
As you gather with your families and friends to break bread and exchange gifts, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this festival. Eid is not just about indulging in delicious food or wearing new clothes, but it is also a time to show compassion, generosity and unity towards our fellow citizens.
In these challenging times, when our country is facing various socio-economic and political challenges, it is more important than ever to come together as a nation and support each other. Let us put aside our differences and work towards building a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
On this occasion of Eid, I urge all of you to extend a hand of friendship and kindness to those in need. Let us remember that the true spirit of Eid lies in sharing our blessings with others.
Once again, Eid Mubarak to all my fellow citizens! May Allah bless us all with love, peace and prosperity.
Sincerely,
Barr. Neda Imasuen
