The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday in Nigeria to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Muslims across Nigeria are encouraged to celebrate peacefully, reflecting the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion. The government also calls on all Nigerians to pray for the peace, security, and progress of the nation.
