EUI Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dawood Egbefo, honoured with two prestigious awards

The humility, hard work and integrity of the Acting Vice Chancellor of Edo University Iyamho, Professor Dawood Egbefo, has once again been praised by some Nigerian groups who presented him with different awards for his tenacity and contributions to the educational sector in Nigeria.
Presenting the NPYACTI Integrity/Ambassadorial Award 2025, the coordinator of the Nigerian Patriotic Against Corruption and Transparency Initiative, Comr. Amb. Prince Afoke Okporua extolled the undiluted values of the Acting Vice Chancellor and his team for their continuous support for the youth in the society.
Comr. Okporua said it is difficult to find a quintessential man of his kind filled with love and humility despite his position, which is a great motivation for the group that believes in a corruption-free society.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Faith Youth Council of Nigeria equally presented an Icon of Societal Transformation Award to the Acting Vice-Chancellor. The President of the group, Godiya Tunde Adams said the award is in recognition of Prof. Dawood’s tireless efforts to promote education, inclusivity, transparency and discipline in the University’s community that is a beacon of hope for the Nation’s educational growth and development.
The group, whose motto is to promote unity, understanding and progress in Nigeria, said they are to bridge the gap between faith communities and advocate for a new generation of leaders who will embrace diversity, reject extremism, and build a brighter future for all Nigerians.
In his speech, the Acting Vice-chancellor, Prof. Dawood Egbefo, welcomed both groups and thanked them for such an initiative in the era where social media has taken the attention of our youths. He, however, admonished them to come up with some viable ideas that can impart to the younger generations.
Egbefo, who said he has always had this flare for Interfaith connection, called for togetherness amongst all, no matter the religion. Prof. Dawood Stressed the need for people to be tolerant of one another as a lot can still be achieved in diversity.
