Samuel Eto’o, former Cameroon and Barcelona football star, recently criticized Africa’s football industry for losing a lot of money due to a lack of investment.
He pointed out that the first player transfers between Africa and Europe typically cost between 1 and 2 million euros, but the same player is sold for 30 to 40 million euros just six months later.
Eto’o believes that African football development is not in the interest of Europeans and that more investment is needed to improve the industry.
He emphasized that football is a money-making affair and that it requires a plan and investment to work towards returns.
