Edo University Iyamho has announced the sad demise of its former Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dawood O. Egbefo.

Professor . Egbefo died less than three  weeks after handing over to the new Vice-Chancellor.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Amaechi Kelly Quincy, announced Professor Dawood O. Egbefo’s passing through an official press statement.

The university’s statement didn’t specify the cause or date of Professor Egbefo’s death. Instead, it conveyed condolences to his loved ones and the academic community, praying for his eternal rest and strength for his family to cope with the loss.

Professor  Egbefo  from Edo Central district of Edo state is a Professor of History and International Studies and formerly the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Edo University Iyamho.

He has a strong academic background, with degrees from the University of Ilorin and experience in library and information studies, focusing on history, international studies, and public governance.

Professor Egbefo was a distinguished scholar, an astute administrator, and a mentor to many within the academic community. His dedication, humility, and commitment to the advancement of education left an indelible mark on the history of our University.
